Florida gets a lot of attention for the heat, hurricanes, tourists, traffic, and alligators. π And yes… sometimes all of those things are a little too real.
But there’s another side of Florida that I love.
I love being able to walk outside and see something growing.
I love the smell of the air after a summer rain.
I love sitting outside with a cup of coffee and listening to the birds.
I love knowing that the water isn’t that far away.
I love old Florida roads, little towns, moss hanging from the trees, and places that seem like they’ve been sitting there forever.
I love the sunshineβeven when it’s trying to cook me alive. π
And I love that there’s always somewhere to go, something to see, or some little piece of Florida history to stumble across.
I guess that’s one of the reasons I’ve stayed.
Florida isn’t perfect. Neither am I.
But after all these years, it still feels like home.
What’s something you love about where you live?
